Can I Use An ASUS Laptop To Play Valorant?
NINE “Categories” of laptops from Asus are listed on their website, and 8 of them run Windows.
Out of the 8, every single one of them has at least two or three “Models.”
And once more, EVERY model comes in a variety of variations, whether it be an i3/5/7/9, a Ryzen 3/5/7/9, a GPU-equipped model, or something else entirely.
As a result, there is almost no real answer to a question this general. I’m not to blame if you choose a Chromebook after I say yes.
The answer is entirely dependent upon the machine’s specifications and other features.
However, given that Valorant’s minimum specification is so low, any laptop with a modern spec, including an i3 with Intel iGPU, will function just fine at 720p 60FPS or, in some cases, even 1080p 60FPS!
Should I Purchase An ASUS TUF Gaming Laptop?
I have an ASUS TUF 504GM with a 1060 GPU.
Regarding price and performance, it’s a decent laptop.
However, the construction is appalling. Although the metallic monitor cover gives it a fantastic appearance, using the laptop in parks or open spaces is not recommended because the metal casing heats up and increases the temperature in the area. Because of the laptop’s poor construction, the plastic screen casing eventually splits open and the metal portion of the screen begins to corrode. Its not sturdy.
On this laptop, I’ve played GTA 5 and Most Wanted 2, and they both play fantastically. With GTA 5, I did occasionally experience frame drops, but neither Most Wanted 2 nor Rivals experienced any problems.
Without a power adapter, you are unable to play any game without experiencing significant lag.
I’ve currently triple booted the computer with Ubuntu, Kali, and Windows. Additionally, Kali’s battery backup is even worse than Ubuntu’s. Laptop runs for no more than a few hours on Ubuntu and 1.5 hours on Kali. Additionally, this laptop’s fan drivers are different, making it impossible to control the fans on other operating systems because the drivers are not available.
This laptop is the best option if you’re a developer on a tight budget who wants to game because it can run any program or operating system, excluding Mac OS, obviously. The downside is that it does heat up, but I have never encountered problems where the OS has hung due to heat or anything of that sort. I have run YOLO object detection and many OpenCV programs, and these have run outstandingly on my laptop with good FPS.
If you only want to work on development, stick with Apple products because they are portable, lightweight, and have great battery life. I also liked the Supernova Studio for MAC, which makes it easier to develop apps by letting you export user interfaces to flutter code. There are also specialized Mac products that let you edit videos and code, among other things. Since many developers use Macs, there is a sizable developer community to support you when you run into problems.
Conclusion
You can download and update your motherboard drivers and utilities, change device lighting control, and perform a number of other operations using Armoury Crate, a centralized software center. The Armory Crate Highlights section also provides a quick look at a variety of news and stories from ROG. It is not harmful, but it is advised against being uninstalled because it is helpful for updating the driver.
